Saudi Ambassador to Yemen, Mohammed Al-Jaber, announced on Friday the transfer of the third batch of the Saudi financial grant to support the Yemeni economy.
“Under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince, and in continuation of support for the brothers in Yemen, the third batch of the Kingdom’s grant to support the treatment of the budget deficit of the Yemeni government has been transferred to the Central Bank of Yemen in Aden,” Ambassador Al-Jaber said in a tweet on X.
He explained that the third batch comes “to support salaries, wages, operating expenses and food security in Yemen, and to contribute to achieving security, stability and development for the brotherly Yemeni people in all Yemeni provinces.”
Yesterday, Thursday, the head of the Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen, Rashad Al-Alim, announced the arrival of a new batch of Saudi support to the Central Bank of Yemen, as the national currency continues to decline against foreign currencies in areas controlled by the internationally recognized government.
During the past two days, the Yemeni riyal has recorded a significant decline against the dollar, exceeding 1800 riyals to the dollar in Aden and the southern and eastern provinces of Yemen, despite the recent measures taken by the Central Bank of Yemen against banks controlled by the Houthis
