The US Department of State said on Thursday that coordination between the Yemeni Houthi group and Iranian militias in Iraq should be reduced.
This came in response to the first joint attack claimed by the Houthis and the so-called Islamic Resistance in Iraq, affiliated with Iran, on the Israeli port of Haifa as they said on Thursday. The occupation denied the occurrence of the attack.
US Department of State spokesman Matthew Miller said at a press conference – monitored by Yemen Monitor -: We are deeply concerned about any coordination between Yemen and the Iraqi resistance and any possible cooperation between them as it should be reduced.
The spokesman also confirmed the occupation’s support for what he said its right to defend itself.
Earlier, Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi said that the operations carried out by his group against the Israeli occupation in cooperation with the Iranian-backed Islamic Resistance group in Iraq will intensify.
