“Yemen Meteorological Center: Scorching heat on coastal plains and deserts

The National Meteorology Center, today, Sunday, expects a scorching heat to continue on coastal plains, deserts, and internal plateaus.

According to the weather report, hot to very hot conditions are expected on coastal plains, deserts, and internal plateaus, with maximum temperatures ranging from 36 to 44 degrees Celsius.

Light rain showers are expected in some parts of Taiz, Ibb, West Dhamar, Rimah, Mahwit, , Hajjah, and West Shabwah  governorates, accompanied by thunderstorms occasionally.

Strong winds are expected on Socotra Archipelago, exceeding 25 knots in speed.

Citizens are warned to take precautions against sunburn during the afternoon in coastal plains, deserts, and internal plateaus.

In areas where rain is expected, a warning is issued for thunderstorms and flash floods in valleys and wadis during and after the rain.

A warning is also issued for high waves and rough sea conditions on Socotra Archipelago.”
