(STC) Rejects the Outcomes of Yemeni Political Parties
Yemen Monitor/ Aden/ Exclusive:
The STC, backed by the UAE, rejected on Tuesday the return of political party activities and their endorsement of a project to restore state institutions and support the Yemeni government.
This was stated in a statement from the political body of the STC, which affirmed the rejection of “all outcomes announced by the parties” during the meeting held on Monday in the temporary capital Aden, emphasizing the need to “end the coup” and “restore state institutions” and “support the government.”
STC described the talk of political parties about the return of political activities and “liberating the country from the Houthis” as an “attempt to revive a dead body, as those same parties have abandoned their duties and popular bases in the northern provinces.”
The political parties’ steps were considered “provocative” and “any meeting of this kind will return matters to the initial square of conflict and hinder peace efforts,” as per the Transitional Council.
The UAE-backed STC announced its rejection of all “outcomes of Yemeni political parties.”
Meetings of political parties and components concluded with a seven-point agreement, including working to end the coup and restore state institutions, providing essential public services to citizens in liberated provinces to create an attractive model.
The meetings also acknowledged the southern issue as a key and pivotal issue to address all national issues.
The parties and components emphasized the return of all institutions to operate from the temporary capital Aden, and enhancing efforts in combating corruption and terrorism.
They also agreed to provide the necessary support to ensure the functioning of the government, and mobilizing international support for it to become an active partner with the international community in maintaining international peace and security.
