Yemeni Foreign Ministry: We closely monitor the circumstances of the death of two Yemenis in an airstrike on a gas field in Kurdistan, Iraq

The Yemeni Foreign Ministry affirmed on Saturday that they are continuously monitoring and closely following the details and circumstances surrounding the incident in which four Yemeni workers were killed and six others were injured in an airstrike on the Kormo gas field in Sulaymaniyah province in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry expressed its condemnation of the airstrike and stated that they are in constant coordination and continuous communication with the Yemeni Embassy in Baghdad, which is in intensive contact with the relevant authorities in Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government to understand the details and circumstances of the incident.
They added that they are working in coordination with relevant authorities to facilitate the evacuation and repatriation of the bodies of the Yemeni workers killed to their homeland, and they are monitoring the health status of the wounded who suffered minor injuries and are in stable condition.
On Friday, the official spokesperson for the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government, Peshwa Huramani, stated in a press release, “Four Yemeni workers were killed and the field suffered extensive damage, which will impact the electricity shortage.”
He further added, “These repeated attacks must be stopped,” urging the federal government in Iraq to “find the perpetrators of this terrorist act, bring them to justice, and prevent the recurrence of such actions.”
The Kormo gas field is located between the cities of Kirkuk and Sulaymaniyah, in an area managed by the authorities of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, which enjoys self-government and is operated by the UAE company “Dana Gas.”
