Saudi Newspaper: Yemen Awaits Peace

The Saudi newspaper, Okaz, stated on Thursday that the path towards a permanent and comprehensive peace in Yemen is something that must be expedited.
In its editorial titled “Yemen Awaits Peace,” the newspaper reported that among the rapid international developments in the region and the world and their impact on the economic and living conditions in Yemen, the heading towards comprehensive and long lasting peace must be accelerated, especially since Saudi diplomacy continues to make determined efforts to unite Yemenis under Points of view.
The newspaper mentioned the veteran diplomat in Yemen, Ambassador Mohammed Saeed Al-Jaber, who reiterated Saudi Arabia’s support for efforts to achieve peace, security, and development in Yemen, and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people during his meeting with the UN envoy Hans Grundberg on Tuesday. This comes as part of the Kingdom’s great interest in the Yemeni issue and its commitment to guid the country out of the sea of crises towards safety, stability, development, and prosperity.
The newspaper continued, stating that the next phase requires starting a Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue that leads to conclusive solutions to end the war and division, transcend the current stage towards achieving a long lasting peace, and focus on the rebuilding phase to fulfill the aspirations and hopes of the Yemeni people, whose cause should not be tied to other issues.
According to the newspaper, hopes are certainly pinned on the sincere efforts of the brothers in continuously seeking to unite Yemenis and resolve their crisis.
