The Houthi armed group has admitted the incident of blowing up houses of Yemeni citizens over their heads in the city of Rada’a in the central province of Al-Bayda.
The Houthi Interior Ministry in Sana’a said that the incident “happened as a result of a mistake by some members of the group while carrying out a security campaign to pursue some citizens who had attacked a Houthi patrol earlier, resulting in the killing of two Houthi militants.”
Houthies indicated that they have “formed urgent field committees to investigate the details of the incident that occurred in Rada’a district of Al-Bayda province, to arrest the perpetrators involved in the incident and bring them to justice.”
They also indicated that “they has directed to compensate the families of the victims and those affected by the incident.”
Earlier, local sources said that the Houthi militia in Al-Bayda summoned special forces from Sana’a and besieged the homes of “Aal Naqous” and Al-Zaylai families in Al-Hufarah neighborhood in the middle of Rada’a city at dawn today (Tuesday). There are reports of about 20 people under the rubble.
Yemeni activists circulated scenes on social media about the bombing operation and the subsequent rescue operations from under the rubble, amid reports of casualties, the number of which was not immediately clear.
This comes due the backdrop of a young man from the Al-Zaylai family setting up an ambush, last night, for one of the Houthi crews in the middle of Rada’a city, killing the brother of the Houthi security supervisor “Abu Hussein Al-Harman” and two others who were with him on their car, while two others were injured. This was in retaliation for the killing of his brother about a year ago by the bodyguards of the Houthi supervisor “Al-Harman” in the Arib Qat market in Rada’
