Yemen monitor / Marib:
On Sunday an official of the Houthi armed group said that negotiations with Saudi Arabia are in progress, but going slowly. An agreement between the Yemeni government and the Houthis was expected to be signed this month, which is coming to its end.
The official told”Yemen monitor” that contacts with Saudi Arabia are in progress, but the latest talks are proceeding very slowly.
The official accuses the Americans of intervening to stop the talks and put pressure on the kingdom of Saudi Arabia not to end the war in Yemen.
The US envoy to Yemen, Timothy linderking, said on Saturday that the Houthi attacks on the Red Sea do not establish”a peace in Yemen”.
On the other hand, local sources told “Yemen monitor” that the Houthi group asked its officials in the directorates of Sana’a to call their fighters to join the fighting fronts in the provinces of Marib, Al-Jawf and Shabwa.
The sources added that the group refers to the possibility of starting battles in the three provinces.
In recent past days, the Houthis have launched drone attacks and ground attacks on positions of internationally recognized government forces.
The sources who spoke to” Yemen monitor ” prefere anonymity due to the sensitivity of the subject.
