Exclusive- Posts related to the US military forwarded to the Houthi areas

Ads said to be posted by the US military, appear on the internet in Al-Houthi-controlled areas accusing them of harming the Yemenis by launching attacks on ships in the Red Sea.

This comes as the United States and Britain are preparing to launch an aerial bombing operation targeting the Houthi’s armed group due to their attacks on ships in the Red Sea.

Ads appear in applications that uses Google ads as a source of profit and it was confirmed by one of Yemen monitor’s reporter as well as a number of residents in Sana’a city while the same ads do not appear for residents in the governorates under the control of the internationally recognized government.

Yemen monitor” reviewed two ads attributed to the US military, but could not reach the US Central Command for comment.

The first ads says that: the Yemeni people knew well that the Houthis ‘ actions in the Red Sea are only to cover all the crimes they have committed against Yemenis.

The ads contain a link refer to a statement by the US command on X on December 26th which accuse the Houthis of operations against the cargo ships in the Red Sea.

Another Ads says that: the governments of the world’s most powerful economies are issuing ajoint statement which condemning the Houthi’s attacks on commercial ships and warning them of Continuation in targeting and retaining international trade ships.

The ads also contain a link  refers to a statement of the United States and 12 other countries  says that it’s the last warning of the Houthis before launching a coordinated attacks against them.

On December 18th the  US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced a multinational security initiative “Operation prosperity guardian” to prevent the Houthis ‘ increasing attacks on ships in the Red Sea.

This week Washington with ten other countries warned  that the Iran-backed Houthis would “bear the responsibility of the consequences” if they continued targeting ships in the Red Sea.

The Houthis says that they are only targeting Israeli ships or ships owned by Israeli businessmen that are sailing to Israeli ports through the Red Sea.

The Red Sea is considered to be one of the most important arteries of the global shipping system, and third of the total container traffic passes through it. Any sustained disruption in navigation there could lead to a multiplier rising costs in the global economy.
