By Mareb Al-ward
The press secretary of the head of Shaab Ibb Club denied that a statement had been issued regarding the relegation of the first football team to the second division after losing on Tuesday against Shasb Hadramawt Team by two goals for one in the last group stage game in the Yemen League.
In response to a question about the statement attributed to the club’s president, Sheikh Abdulwaheed Salah, Mohamed Mazahem said: “There has been no statement from him. This is a fake statement “.
In an exclusive statement, he added: “The next hours will provide answers to the current questions. for every recent incident “.
Media websites and social media platforms published a statement alleging that they were the club’s president, saying that he did not know why the team had fallen and promising fans to review and correct.
The team’s landing, nicknamed “Stubborn”, followed its second set of eight points, a disappointing result that prompted it to drop for the third time in its history after 1984 and 1994.
The club’s fans subsequently called for the resignation of the administration to fail and for an interim committee to be formed until new elections.
Adel Guas, the club’s secretary, said: “The situation is not currently known and it is not right to make any decision now because the situation is fraught with anger and intolerance, so any decision that will be made is not in the club’s interest.”
In an exclusive statement, he added, “The right action is to wait for everyone for a week or 10 days until the souls calm down and then there is a meeting of wise men and club leaders to assess the situation and take appropriate solutions.”
