Rights Report Documents 373 Houthi Violations in Al-Bayda Over the Year

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
A human rights report issued by the Rassd Center for Rights and Development revealed that the Houthi group committed 373 violations against the residents of Al-Bayda Governorate during the year 2024.
The violations included 153 cases of arbitrary detention and enforced disappearance, 107 violations against life, 78 cases each of looting and attacks on private property, and two cases of workplace discrimination.
The center explained that the violations were documented in most districts of the governorate, with Radman District accounting for the largest share (94 violations), followed by Thi Na’im District (90 violations), and Al-Zahir and Walad Rabie districts with 44 violations each.
The report also highlighted that the violations affected all demographics in Al-Bayda, with 252 cases targeting males, 4 cases targeting females, and 40 cases targeting children.
Additionally, the report documented violations against both public and private sectors, including residential buildings, educational, health, and agricultural facilities, as well as places of worship.
The center noted that the documented cases do not represent all violations committed by the Houthi group in Al-Bayda but are what the center was able to verify according to national and international legal standards.
The report called for an end to the daily acts of violence carried out by the Houthi group, the prosecution of the perpetrators, ensuring they do not escape accountability, and compensating the victims.
