The Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) reaffirmed its full support for the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council to achieve security and stability in Yemen and to reach a comprehensive political solution.
The Council also renewed its support for the efforts of the United Nations and its Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, to reach a comprehensive political solution.
Additionally, the Ministerial Council welcomed the continued efforts of the Sultanate of Oman and the ongoing communications with all Yemeni parties to revive the political process.
The Council called on Yemeni parties to fully implement the set of measures they had agreed upon, which were announced by the UN envoy on December 23, 2023.
The Ministerial Council also praised the role of the Sultanate of Oman in securing the release of the crew members of the ship Galaxy Leader and urged the Houthi group to immediately release all detained employees of the United Nations, the U.S. Embassy, international organizations, and other diplomatic missions.
