Fierce Battles Erupt Between Yemeni Army and Houthis on Marib’s Southern Front

Yemeni Army forces thwarted several hostile attempts by the Houthis on the southern front of Marib governorate on Thursday, while responding to hostile fire sources of the militias on several fronts.

The website of the Yemeni Ministry of Defense stated that army forces managed to foil a Houthi infiltration attempt in  Al-Balaq sector after monitoring and tracking their elements, where they were targeted with appropriate fire, forcing them to flee.

The sources added that the armed forces inflicted a number of deaths and injuries on the infiltrating Houthis, in addition to destroying a number of their vehicles.

The battles resulted in the death of a member of the Yemeni army and the injury of others, while the Houthi militias suffered losses in lives and equipment, according to the same source.

Other sources confirmed that the Houthi group launched several attacks on various Yemeni army positions in Taiz, directly shelling Al-Qasr Street and Al-Kamp Street.

At the same time, the Houthis continued their hostile actions, targeting army positions with artillery shelling, tank shells, drone aircraft, and Katyusha rockets on several fronts south, north, and northwest of the governorate, according to the sources.

The sources stated that the Yemeni forces responded to these attacks by targeting and destroying fire sources and their emplacements, leading to their silencing, and inflicting losses on the militias in lives and equipment.
