Washington Offers $15 Million for Information on the Houthis’ Financial Network

Yemen Monitor/Washington/Special:
The U.S. State Department has offered a $15 million reward for information leading to the disruption of the Houthi group’s financial mechanisms.
The State Department’s “Rewards for Justice” program said, “The Houthi group has launched several attacks on commercial ships (…) and attempted to hijack and launch anti-ship missiles against US ships.”
It added, “If you have any information about the Houthis’ financiers, partners, or financial networks, please contact us.”
It specified several numbers to contact the Americans.
On Tuesday, the US designated the Iranian-backed Houthi group as a foreign terrorist organization, in compliance with an order issued by President Donald Trump in January.
The Houthis control parts of Yemen, including the capital Sana’a, and have launched missile and drone attacks on Israel since the outbreak of the war in Gaza in October 2023.
They have also repeatedly targeted commercial ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden – vital waterways for global trade.
