The tribes of Madhaj and Himyar held an expanded meeting on Friday in Marib Governorate (Northeast), in the presence of sheikhs and dignitaries from several Yemeni governorates.
During the meeting, the tribes affirmed their full readiness to confront the Houthis by all available means until the liberation of Yemen and the restoration of the state.
They also stressed the need to unify the national and tribal ranks to confront the Iranian Houthi project, warning against internal disputes that may hinder liberation efforts.
The participants announced their adherence to the national constants and their rejection of attempts to change the Yemeni identity, pointing to the role of the tribe in confronting injustice and tyranny.
They also affirmed that the Houthis are nothing but an extension of the Imamate regime that was overthrown by the September 26, 1962 revolution, stressing the duty to stand against their sectarian project supported by Iran.
The attendees called for a “conference of the Yemeni tribe” to unify efforts in confronting the Houthis, stressing that the national issue transcends party or tribal affiliations, and that confronting the Houthis should be a priority for all Yemenis.
They also strongly condemned the Houthis’ recruitment of children and youth, and called on the legitimate government to declare a comprehensive liberation battle, and to return to the interior to lead the battle, while providing military and logistical support to the fighting fronts. They called on the Arab coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, to continue supporting the efforts to liberate Yemen.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the tribes of Madhaj and Himyar pledged to continue the struggle against the Houthi project until the complete liberation of Yemen, stressing the right of the displaced to return to their homes, stressing that the tribes will remain the impenetrable barrier against the Houthis and their agendas.
