Without Investigating The Circumstances Of His Death.. The Burial Of A UN Employee Who Died In A Houthi Detention Center

Sources in the United Nations World Food Program in the capital, Sana’a, reported today, Wednesday, that the body of the program employee, “Ahmed Baalawi,” was buried without allowing the program and the employee’s family to know the circumstances of his death.

The sources explained that the prayer on the victim’s body was held in Bilal Mosque in the capital, Sana’a, while his body was buried in “Al-Sayyah” cemetery.

According to the sources, the victim’s burial process took place without conducting any investigation into the circumstances of the death.

Last Tuesday, the program announced the death of Ba Alawi in a Houthi detention center in Sa’ada Governorate, the group’s stronghold, days after his arrest on January 23 of last year, along with other employees.

Last Monday, the United Nations announced the “temporary” suspension of its programs in Sa’ada Governorate, days after suspending its activities in the group’s areas of control completely, as a result of the group’s detention of 8 additional UN employees, including “Ahmed Baalawi.”
