Official Warning of Fraudulent Activities Impersonating Yemen’s Presidential Office

The Presidency council of Yemen in Aden has issued a warning about fraudulent activities carried out by individuals impersonating staff members of the President’s Office, according to a statement released on Monday.

The official Yemeni News Agency (Saba) quoted a responsible source from the President’s Office as warning of “fraudulent activities and practices carried out by outlaws to obtain financial sums by impersonating leaders and staff of the office.”

The source added, “The President’s Office has received numerous reports and complaints about fraudsters using the titles of President’s Office staff and the presidential team to deceive victims into paying sums of money in exchange for false promises of financial aid, through the use of phone numbers or the WhatsApp application.”

The source urged people not to deal with any numbers or individuals impersonating President’s Office staff, who request financial sums or fees in exchange for transferring financial or medical aid.

The source vowed to take all necessary measures to prosecute thieves impersonating the President’s Office, considering this a serious crime punishable by law.
