Taiz’s Largest Hospital Reports Over 474,000 Medical Services in 2024

The General Authority of Al-Thawra General Hospital in Taiz Governorate (the largest government hospital in the city) announced on Wednesday that it had provided 474,159 health services during 2024.
According to the annual report issued by the authority, these services varied between outpatient clinics, surgeries, emergency services, intensive care, dialysis, laboratories, and various treatment departments.
The hospital conducted 4,692 surgeries for civilians and war wounded, including major surgeries in several specialties, such as 906 orthopedic surgeries, 304 burn and cosmetic surgeries, and 88 ear, nose, and throat surgeries. There were also 1,808 general surgeries and 99 neurosurgeries.
The emergency department received 22,850 cases, and the intensive care unit received 1,149 cases. The hospital also provided 26,991 dialysis sessions.
The report indicated that the hospital’s outpatient clinics received 77,387 patients, including 13,124 cases in the internal medicine clinic and 13,454 cases in the orthopedics clinic.
The neurology clinic received 6,225 cases, the obstetrics and gynecology clinic received 4,142 cases, and the oncology clinic received 699 cases. While other clinics received 36,124 cases.
Regarding specialized surgeries, the hospital performed 906 orthopedic surgeries, 304 burn and cosmetic surgeries, and 88 ear, nose, and throat surgeries, while it performed 1,808 general surgeries and 99 neurosurgeries. There were also 1,487 surgeries in other specialties.
As for the general laboratories department, the report recorded 243,143 cases that underwent laboratory tests, 144 people underwent brain mapping, 31,689 cases underwent X-rays, and 7,559 people underwent CT scans.
