Israel Intensifies Intelligence Gathering in Yemen, Declares ‘Ongoing Military Campaign’

Yemen Monitor/ Newsroom:

The Israeli Defense Forces General Staff has decided to define the situation concerning the Houthi group in Yemen as an ongoing military campaign. This decision comes in the wake of missile and drone launches from Yemen towards Israeli targets, despite a distance of approximately 2,000 kilometers.

According to the Hebrew website Walla, this means a gradual increase in the attention of the Israeli security establishment, particularly the intelligence community, towards Yemen following a decrease in “activity” on the Lebanese and Syrian fronts.

The website indicates that Israel and its security and intelligence agencies have not invested efforts in Yemen for years due to a lack of sufficient budgets.

Following the directives of the IDF Chief of Staff, Herzi Halevi, the Military Intelligence Directorate (AMAN) will receive more resources to gather intelligence on the Houthis in Yemen.

The Israeli Air Force will also receive greater resources to launch attacks against targets in Yemen, such as senior Houthi figures, military infrastructure, and supply chains in various areas, with a focus on the supply of weapons systems and raw materials for weapons production from Iran and other countries.
