US Embassy Congratulates Yemeni Filmmaker Mohsen Al-Khalifi on International Recognition

The United States Embassy in Yemen has congratulated Yemeni-American filmmaker Mohsen Al-Khalifi on being included in a list of the most influential figures in Arab cinema by a renowned international film magazine.
In an official Facebook post, the embassy stated: “Congratulations to Yemeni-American film producer Mohsen Al-Khalifi on being chosen as one of the Arab Stars of Tomorrow 2024 by Screen International! Alongside International Visitor Program alumnus, the inspiring Yemeni director Amro Jamal, Mohsen is working to revive the Yemeni film industry with films such as ’10 Days Before the Wedding,’ the first Yemeni film to be commercially released in 40 years. Their next film, ‘The Exhausted,’ also premiered in 2023 and won numerous awards worldwide. Both films have been selected as Oscar contenders. The US Embassy concluded its post by saying, “We are proud of Mohsen’s remarkable achievements in Yemeni cinema and the recognition he deserves as an Arab Star of Tomorrow.”
