Israel Requests Emergency UN Security Council Session to Condemn “Houthi Attacks”
Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said he had requested that the President of the Security Council convene an emergency session to condemn the Houthi attacks and Iran’s continued support for them.
Saar added that “the Houthis continue to attack Israel, threaten freedom of navigation and commerce, and pose a threat to the region and the entire world.”
He continued, “The hostile actions of the Houthis are a serious violation of international law and Security Council resolutions and a threat to international peace and security.”
He pointed out that “the Houthis pose a threat not only to Israel but also to the entire region and the world,” adding that the most important and first thing to do is to classify them as a terrorist organization.
Saar added that the US, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Israel currently classify the Houthis as a terrorist organization.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Houthis announced the launch of a hypersonic ballistic missile at an Israeli target in the occupied area of Jaffa, Tel Aviv, in their seventh operation in the occupied territories since last Thursday.
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority said that millions of people rushed to shelters for the third time in a week due to Houthi missiles.
