The newspaper quoted a source from the Saudi side of the council as saying that a proposal to rehabilitate border crossings between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Yemen will be discussed to facilitate the passage of goods, products, and passengers between the two countries, and to develop the customs work mechanism on the Yemeni side at border crossings to overcome obstacles and facilitate the movement of products between the two countries, and to create a qualitative shift in customs work.
The source added, “The development of Yemeni-Saudi crossings that are currently operating, or crossings that need to be developed, will be discussed after the reopening of other customs crossings.”
The talks will discuss a number of trade files, including: “opening and developing border crossings, establishing and operating inspection stores for livestock, fruits, and vegetables, Yemeni banks, and establishing a club for Yemeni investors in the Kingdom.”
