Yemen Monitor/ Sana’a/ Exclusive:

The Houthi group announced on Monday evening that it had launched a hypersonic ballistic missile attack on a military target in Israel.

The group’s military spokesperson said in a televised statement: “The missile force carried out a military operation targeting an Israeli military site in the occupied Jaffa area (Tel Aviv) with a hypersonic ballistic missile capable of flying at speeds exceeding the speed of sound, known as Palestine 2.”

The military spokesperson stated that “the operation achieved its goals successfully.”

Earlier, the Israeli army announced that it had intercepted a missile launched from Yemen before it crossed Israeli airspace.

Hebrew media reported that air traffic at Ben Gurion Airport was halted following the launch of a missile from Yemen.

The Houthi group has been launching drone and ballistic missile attacks on targets in Israel, in addition to attacks on ships linked to Israel, the US, and Britain in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

In response, the US and Britain have been carrying out airstrikes on Yemen since January.

Hebrew media reported that the Israeli army is preparing to retaliate against the Houthi attack by launching a new wave of airstrikes, following two previous waves this year.
