Houthi Media: New Airstrike Targets Hodeidah in Western Yemen

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

Houthi-affiliated media reported that a joint US-UK airstrike targeted the coastal province of Hodeidah in western Yemen on Sunday.

According to Houthi media, the “US-UK” aircraft carried out a new airstrike on the Al-Tuhayta district in southern Hodeidah province, without providing further details.

Hodeidah, Sana’a, and other Houthi-controlled areas have previously been subjected to US-UK airstrikes as part of a military operation launched by Washington and London since January 12 against Houthi targets. This operation was in response to Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea, which they claim were Israeli or heading to Israel amid the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.

Last Tuesday, the Houthis announced the execution of a “qualitative” military operation targeting three US supply ships after they left the port of Djibouti, according to their claims.
