Houthis Claim Attack on a Vital Target in Central Israel
Yemen Monitor/ Newsroom:
The Houthi armed group announced on Sunday that it had targeted a vital target in the occupied city of Jaffa (central Israel) with a hypersonic missile.
A statement by the Houthi military spokesman said that “the group carried out an operation targeting a vital target in the occupied Jaffa area with a hypersonic missile of the type “Palestine 2″ which successfully hit its target.”
He affirmed that the group would double “its military operations with missiles and drones in support of the mujahideen in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank,” and that its operations would not stop until the aggression against Gaza Strip is stopped and the siege lifted.
On Sunday morning, the official Israeli Broadcasting Authority said that “the army reported intercepting a missile launched from Yemen.”
It added: “Four people were slightly injured while on their way to shelters after sirens sounded in central Israel.”
Since November of last year, the Houthis have been launching attacks that they say target Israeli interests within the occupied Palestinian territories, in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Arabian Sea, as part of what the group says is solidarity with Gaza.
