Saudi Relief Center Signs Agreement to Operate Prosthetic Center in Marib

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), a Saudi government relief agency, has signed a joint cooperation agreement with the International Society for the Relief of Victims of War and Disasters to operate a prosthetic and rehabilitation center in Marib Governorate (eastern Yemen).

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 2024 International Conference on Conjoined Twins in Riyadh.

Under the agreement, which will benefit 7,174 individuals, physical rehabilitation services will be provided to people with disabilities, as well as follow-up and community engagement. Additionally, each patient will receive a personalized diagnosis and treatment plan, and various types of prosthetic limbs will be fitted.

The agreement also includes providing occupational therapy for prosthetic limbs and ongoing follow-up, as well as enhancing the professional and scientific capabilities of medical and technical staff to handle specialized cases. Furthermore, it aims to reduce the emigration of specialized medical and technical personnel.
