Qatari Donations Aid Yemen’s Cholera Patients
Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
Generous donations from Qatar have provided significant relief to thousands of Yemeni patients, particularly those suffering from cholera, including children and women from displaced populations and local communities. This humanitarian effort has been widely praised by beneficiaries and healthcare providers alike, according to asharq Qatari newspaper.
These contributions have provided crucial support to healthcare facilities in Yemen, especially centers specializing in treating acute watery diarrhea and cholera, in the governorates of Hajjah, Hodeidah, Ibb, Amran, and Taiz. It is estimated that a total of 7,300 cholera cases will benefit from this aid.
The support, channeled through Qatar Charity, comes in response to urgent appeals from Yemen’s health sector for medical supplies and equipment in targeted areas where nearly 9 million people face severe shortages of basic healthcare services.
The aid includes the provision of intravenous fluids and emergency medications for cholera patients, aiming to improve overall health conditions and alleviate the suffering of displaced persons and affected communities.
