Amidst Yemen Strikes….Elon Musk Criticizes F-35 Fighters as ‘Obsolete’ & Only Fools Use Them
Yemen Monitor/Washington:
Billionaire Elon Musk has described the American F-35 fighter jets as “expensive failures” and argued that only “fools” would continue to use them.
Musk’s comments coincide with the US military’s official announcement that these fighters are being used to strike Houthi targets in Yemen.
Musk believes the F-35’s design flaw stems from the excessive demands placed on the aircraft. It was expected to have numerous functions for a vast array of users, he explained.
As a result of this design, the F-35 fighter was produced at an exorbitant cost, is highly complex, and is multi-purpose, but it is by no means the optimal choice, according to Musk.
In a tweet on the X platform, commenting on a display of drone swarms, Musk stated: “Meanwhile, some fools are still building manned fighter jets like the F-35,” adding a “trash can” emoji to the post, signaling the futility of spending money on manned aircraft projects.
The tech magnate believes that relying on traditional fighters, even advanced ones, is a decision only “fools” would make, especially as drone technology continues to evolve, allowing for the creation of swarms of thousands of drones that can fly in a coordinated and effective manner.
