Rainy Thunderstorm Belt Heading Towards Yemen

Yemen Monitor/ًWeather:

Meteorologists confirmed today, Sunday, that the southeastern region of the Arabian Sea is witnessing a significant development, with cells advancing towards Socotra Island.

Meteorologist Abu Nasser al-Babakri stated that the southeastern region of the Arabian Sea has shown a remarkable development compared to the morning and afternoon.

He added, “The cumulus clouds that have settled in the southeastern part of the Arabian Sea for more than 48 hours have begun to move. This movement is accompanied by the formation of a broad thunderstorm belt with the detection of frequent lightning signals, heralding a new phase of intensified convective rain activity.”

He continued, “These thunderstorm cells are expected to gradually advance towards Socotra Island over the next 72 hours, and their effects will then extend to the southern coastal areas. Forecasts indicate the possibility of rainfall of varying intensity in areas of Mahra, Hadhramaut, Shabwah, Abyan, and Aden, as well as in scattered areas of the Western Highlands.”
