STC Arrests 3 Yemeni Officials in Aden
Yemen Monitor/Aden/Exclusive:
Sources reported on Monday that forces affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) had arrested three officials in the Yemeni cabinet in Aden.
A “Yemen Monitor” correspondent reported that sources said the STC forces had kidnapped the Assistant Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, Ali al-Naimi, Musa al-Sarib, the head of the secretariat department in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, and Ali al-Qahwi, the director-general of resources, from the presidential palace in Al-Maashiq, the headquarters of the Yemeni government.
The sources did not specify the main reasons for their arrest, but the relationship between the STC and the internationally recognized government has been increasingly tense for months.
The sources spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter.
