The National Meteorology Center forecast, today, Saturday, heavy to moderate thunderstorms over the Tihama plains and coastal areas, and parts of the governorates of Lahj, Al-Dhalea, Taiz, Ibb, Rima, Al-Mahwit, Hajjah, and Sa’ada.
Scattered rains are also expected in areas of the governorates of Amran, Sana’a, Dhamar, and Aden, extending eastward to include the highlands of Abyan and Shabwa, parts of the eastern coasts, and Socotra Archipelago.
The center warned citizens in areas expected to experience rainfall to avoid staying in wadi beds and flood channels during and after rainfall, and to beware of thunderstorms.
Drivers were urged to exercise caution due to low visibility on roads and mountain slopes caused by low-lying dense clouds and fog formation.
