Aden Security Authorities Release Journalist Al-Yazidi After Days of Detention

Local sources reported on Sunday that the security authorities in Aden have released journalist Mohammed Al-Yazidi after days of detention.

The Yemeni Journalists Syndicate had condemned the arrest of Al-Yazidi, a correspondent for Al-Jumhuriya Channel in Aden, and demanded his immediate release.

In a statement last Thursday, the syndicate said it had received a report from colleagues of journalist Mohammed Abdulwahab Al-Yazidi, a correspondent for Al-Jumhuriya Channel in Aden, stating that he had been arrested last Monday by Aden security on charges filed by a political and military figure over posts dating back more than four years.

The syndicate considered the arrest of Al-Yazidi to be one in a series of harassment and persecution that the colleague Al-Yazidi has been subjected to in recent years, calling on the security authorities in Aden to investigate the incident and release him immediately.
