“Yemeni Interior Ministry” Announces 77 Killed and Injured in Traffic Accidents Over a Week

Seventy-seven people were killed or injured in traffic accidents that occurred in the governorates under the control of the Yemeni government over a week.
The Security Media Center affiliated with the Ministry of Interior stated that the number of accidents in the liberated governorates (from the Houthis) during the past week reached 66 traffic accidents, killing 5 people and injuring 72 others, with 31 of them in critical condition.
It explained that the material losses from the accidents amounted to 9 million riyals, distributed among 49 vehicle collisions, 10 pedestrian hit-and-run accidents, 6 vehicle rollovers, and one fall from a vehicle.
The statistics attributed the causes of the traffic accidents to (violating traffic laws and regulations by exceeding the speed limit, dangerous overtaking, being distracted while driving, neglecting the safe distance between vehicles, frequent stopping on the public road without adhering to the necessary signs when stopping, ignoring traffic signs and instructions, neglecting periodic vehicle maintenance, neglecting pedestrians when crossing, and the road and its technical capabilities also played a role in these accidents).
