The first anniversary of the ‘Tophan Al-Aqsa’ battle, executed by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, has overwhelmed social media platforms in Yemen.
On the morning of October 7, 2023, Palestinian factions, led by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), attacked military bases and settlements along the Gaza Strip, killing and capturing Israelis in response to the ongoing crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people and their sanctities, particularly Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Yemen Monitor tracked several posts and writings shared on the pages of writers and politicians, including writer Yassin Al-Tamimi, who commented: “The level of the violent and hysterical Western response to the Tophan Al-Aqsa revealed the extent of the subjugation that the Western system suffers in favor of Zionist influence, which has controlled the official and elite Western mindset. For decades, it has managed to cement a false narrative about the Promised Land and the alleged right of Jews to seize the land and displace its indigenous inhabitants.”
He believes that these convictions have aided and encouraged the Zionist entity to commit war crimes, failing to anticipate a response like the flood that imposed new rules of engagement and exposed the conspiracies and arrangements that were moving forward toward burying the Palestinian cause and undermining the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Journalist Abdul-Basit Al-Shajea argues that #Tophan Al-Aqsa operation fundamentally changed the face of the region, imposed a new reality, and complicated Western politics in the Arab region and the world.
He states that despite the ugliness and brutality of Zionism and imperialism, victory will be on the side of oppressed and wronged peoples, as long as they remain steadfast, patient, and resistant.
Activist Najy Muthana goes on to say that on this glorious day, the Palestinian resistance shattered the security system that the occupier built to secure the lives of settlers, putting their lives in danger and making Israel no longer a place suitable for living.
He adds: “In Gaza, the resistance shattered the myth of the invincible army and turned it into a defeated and subjugated army.”
