Sana’a and other Yemeni cities have experienced a severe fuel crisis, hours after the Israeli occupation forces bombed the port of Hodeidah in western Yemen.
The Israeli airstrikes caused power outages in several governorates, including Sana’a and Hodeidah, which are connected to the Ras al-Katba power plant in Hodeidah that was targeted by the Israeli attacks.
A “Yemen Monitor” correspondent said that the power outage was due to Israeli airstrikes targeting the Ras al-Kathib power plant, which supplies electricity to Sana’a.
This comes amid continued fires in the tanks of the Al-hali power generation plant in the city of Hodeidah.
Earlier, successive explosions caused by Israeli airstrikes shook the oil tanks in the port of Hodeidah, while the Houthis say they emptied the fuel tanks before the Israeli attacks.
For its part, the Yemeni Oil Company, under Houthi control, confirmed that the oil supply situation in areas under its control is stable, shortly after Israeli airstrikes targeted the port of Hodeidah this evening.
The Houthi oil company said in a statement on X that it had previously taken the necessary measures and precautions for any emergency, and that the supply situation in areas under its control is completely stable.
The company called on citizens to cooperate in the event of any station violating the applicable laws and regulations, such as closing the station to create a crisis or raising the official cost or refusing to fill fuel for citizens by contacting the company’s toll-free number: 8001700.
Earlier on Saturday, the Israeli occupation army announced carrying out airstrikes on the port of Hodeidah in Yemen, after the Houthi group launched missile attacks targeting Israel.
The Israeli occupation army explained in a statement that the air force attacked Houthi regime targets in Yemen in the Ras Issa and Hodeidah areas of Yemen with dozens of airstrikes about 1800 kilometers from the Israeli border.
It added that it attacked “power generation stations and a seaport used to transport weapons,” noting that the attack came in response to the recent attacks carried out by the Houthis against “Israel.”
