“Al-Alimi” is briefed by the American envoy on the results of his efforts to de-escalate the situation in Yemen and the region

On Tuesday, Rashad Al-Alimi, the head of the Presidential Council, was briefed by the American envoy to Yemen, Timothy Lenderking, about the results of his recent communications aimed at de-escalating the situation in Yemen and the region.
The official Yemeni News Agency “Saba” reported that the meeting discussed the latest developments in Yemen, including the ongoing escalation by the Houthi group and its grave human rights violations, as well as the efforts of brothers and friends to launch a comprehensive political process under the auspices of the United Nations.
The report added that President Al-Aalimi listened to the American envoy’s briefing regarding the results of his recent communications to de-escalate the situation in Yemen and the region, and the proposed options to encourage the Houthi group to seriously engage with regional and international efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
The meeting emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts with the international community to secure the release of United Nations employees and civil society leaders who are being held captive in Houthi prisons.
