A civilian in his late fifties was killed on Wednesday by a landmine planted by the Houthis in the city of Taiz, southwestern Yemen.

The Yemeni Mine Observatory (a non-governmental organization) said, “The citizen, Ali Rajih al-Habassi, in his late fifties, was killed by a Houthi landmine while herding livestock in the Muza district of the Taiz governorate.”

On Tuesday, a Yemeni citizen died from injuries sustained after a Houthi landmine exploded in the Al-Barh area west of Taiz.

The Houthis have planted hundreds of thousands of landmines and explosive devices in residential areas and public roads in various Yemeni regions and cities, causing thousands of civilian casualties, mostly women and children, according to government and human rights reports.
