Meteorology Center Warns Against Venturing into Wadis and Flood Channels

The National Meteorology Center forecast, today Saturday, the continuation of heavy thunderstorms in several governorates over the coming hours.

In its weather bulletin, the center predicted heavy to very heavy thunderstorms accompanied by downdrafts and hail in the highlands and Tihama plain, as well as the western coast of the governorates of (Hajjah, Hodeidah, and Taiz), and the highlands of the governorates of (Al-Bayda, Lahj, Taiz, Ibb, Al-Dhale’a, Raymah, Dhamar, Al-Mahwit, Sana’a, Amran, Hajjah, and Saada).

It also forecast varying intensities of thunderstorms in parts of the governorates of (Al-Jawf, Marib, Aden, Abyan, Shabwah, Hadramaut, and Mahra).

The center warned citizens in areas expected to receive rainfall to exercise extreme caution and avoid venturing into wadis and flood channels, as well as thunderstorms, strong downdrafts, and hail.

It also warned of reduced horizontal visibility due to rainfall, low clouds, and fog.

The center cautioned against the collapse of traditional mud houses and the risk of rockfalls and landslides, especially in slopes and mountainous roads, as a result of continued rainfall.
