Severe Wasting Ravages Yemeni Children

The World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Monday that 540,000 Yemeni children under the age of five are suffering from severe wasting.
In a post on X platform marking World Humanitarian Day (August 19), the organization stated, “Yemen is facing the burden of disease and conflict, with 17.8 million people in need of health assistance.”
The organization added that “540,000 Yemeni children under the age of five are suffering from severe wasting.”
It continued, “With the ongoing conflict and the collapse of the healthcare system, it is crucial that we continue to work for humanity.”
