Yemen Monitor/Newsroom
A lightning strike caused significant damage to a historic minaret in Al-Zaydiyah district, Al-Hodeidah Governorate, western Yemen, on Monday evening.
Local residents reported that the lightning bolt struck the minaret of the Grand Mosque in Beit Attaa, causing damage to its upper part.
Local activist Tariq Faiz stated that the minaret and the mosque are ancient landmarks dating back to the Rasuli dynasty, as indicated by the inscriptions and drawings found in the mosque.
