Yemeni Government Official: 34 Cholera Deaths Recorded in Taiz Since Early 2024

A health official in the Taiz Governorate, southwestern Yemen, revealed that the governorate has recorded approximately 34 cholera deaths since the beginning of this year.
Tayssir al-Sama’i, the media official in the Taiz Health Office, told Yemen Monitor, “We have recorded 4,000 cases of cholera in Taiz Governorate since the beginning of this year, including 34 deaths.”
It is worth noting that Taiz Governorate ranks fifth among the governorates under the control of the recognized government in terms of the prevalence of the cholera epidemic, following Aden, Al-Dhalea, Abyan, and Lahj.
