Houthis hint at a coming “major operations”
Yemen Monitor / Sana’a / Exclusive:
On Monday, the Houthi group announced its plans to undertake significant operations soon, as the Israeli occupation prepares for an anticipated retaliation against the Islamic Republic of Iran and its regional allies following the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, as reported by Newsweek.
The Middle East is rife with anxiety regarding the potential scale and scope of Iran’s plans since the martyrdom of Hamas’ political bureau chief, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran last week.
Amid the recent escalation of reciprocal clashes that threaten to ignite a broad regional war, experts and former officials have informed Newsweek that members of the Iranian-aligned resistance axis, such as the Houthis and Hezbollah, are likely to play a role in an imminent and multifaceted strike against Israel.
In an interview with Newsweek on Monday, the Deputy Minister of Information in Ansar Allah, Nasr al-Din Amir, refrained from divulging specifics about the group’s involvement in the forthcoming attack but indicated that major plans are ongoing.
He added, “During this period, we tend to speak less and act more.”
He continued, “This is what I want the world to understand.”
The Israeli Prime Minister stated that Yemen would be targeted if the Houthis were to engage in the Iranian response. The occupation had previously targeted the port of Hodeidah in its first unprecedented and direct attack announced on the Yemeni territory.
Earlier on Monday, military sources reported that the US had relocated two destroyers from the Gulf of Oman to the Red Sea, off the coast of Yemen, amid concerns over the Houthi group’s response to the Israeli occupation as part of the Iranian retaliation.
Sources in Sana’a indicated to Yemen Monitor that the Houthis are contemplating striking Israeli energy facilities as part of the Iranian response to the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
