For its part, the Iranian Tasnim News Agency confirmed the news of the Houthi leader’s death, stating that he was killed in the U.S. strike last Tuesday on Jurf Al-Sakhar, south of Baghdad.

According to some media sources, “the Houthi field leader hails from Sa’ada governorate and was killed on the night when one of the prominent military leaders of Hezbollah Lebanon, Fouad Shukr, was killed in an airstrike on a military manufacturing facility in Jurf Al-Sakhar, Iraq, which is linked to the Iraqi Hezbollah militia that has coordinated operations with the Houthis since June.”

The sources indicated that “news of the death of Houthi leader Mastoour revealed through condolences from his relatives and friends, while the Houthi group has not officially announced the other casualties.”

In this regard, journalist Ma’rib Al-Ward stated that “the Houthis’ coordination in joint operations with Iraqi militias to the point of sending fighters to Iraq clarifies the significant change in the dynamics of relationships between Iran’s proxies in the region.”
